Diese Woche hat mich ein Krimi in der U-Bahn begleitet, den ich heute fertig gelesen habe. Er hat mir gut gefallen, aber das tun die Krimis von Val McDermid ja immer. Geschrieben wurde der Roman 1994 und heutzutage für uns gar nicht mehr vorstellbar, das es kein Smartphone gab. Man musste die nächste Telefonzelle suchen, wenn man unterwegs jemand anrufen wollte, und die Ermittlerin hat im Handschuhfach ihres Autos immer eine Kamera mit. Sehr nostalgisch...

 

Bei Amazon wird das Taschenbuch in der Ausfühung die ich habe, für 255,00 Euro gelistet - das kann ja nur ein Irrtum sein...

Das Leben und die Liebe

Schon gestern habe ich in der Straßenbahn mit einem Liebesroman begonnen. Im Moment kann ich mich - wegen der Maskenpflicht in den Öffis  - einfach nicht auf Literatur oder Sachbücher konzentrieren, also gibt es nur leichte Kost. Das Buch hat mir Robert vor Jahren einmal geschenkt, und es ist witzig geschrieben, was bei deuten Autorinnen nicht immer der Fall ist. Von Kerstin Gier hat mir "Wolkenschloss", ein Jugendroman sehr gut gefallen, und auch dieses hier ist liest sich leicht und amüsant und gefällt mir sehr gut. Was mir auch daran gefällt, sind die eingestreuten Zitate über das Glück und die Liebe, von denen werde ich mir sicher ein paar abschreiben.

Als letztes Buch im Mai habe ich mich für den 4. Band einer Fantasy-Reihe entschlossen, der schon gute 4 Jahre auf das Lesen wartet, und mit 440 Seiten kein allzu dicker Schmöker ist.

Reiseprojekt im Mai: Türkei

Am Wochenende habe ich meinen Fantasy-Roman ausgelesen und er hat mir - wie die meisten Bücher von Rosamund Hodge - sehr gut gefallen. Und mit dem Romeo und Julia-Thema war es ja auch ein bisschen Shakespeare. Den zweiten Band habe ich auch schon daheim und ich bin gespannt, wie die Geschichte weitergeht.

 

Begonnen habe ich gestern - für mein literarisches Reiseprojekt - mit einem Reisebegleiter für die Türkei und überraschenderweise erzählt Barbara Yurtdas hier auch über die klassische und zeitgenössische Literatur in der Türkei. Also genau mein Thema, und viele der vorgestellten Bücher habe ich auch schon gelesen. Natürlich kommen auch wunderschöne Urlaubserinnerungen wieder, wir haben ja sehr viele Ferien in der Türkei verbracht. Schade, um ein so wunderschönes Urlaubsland.

Mal wieder Fantasy

Jo Nesbo's Macbeth bin ich nicht zurechtgekommen. Viel zu düster und hoffnungslos, immer nur Drogen und Bandenkriege und eine korrupte Polizei mit vielen Machtkämpfen. Ich habe die ersten 150 Seiten gelesen, und dann die letzten 100 -  das war einfach genug.

 

Begonnen habe ich am Freitag dann ein Jugend-Fantasybuch, das allerdings wieder eine Shakespeare-Vorlage hatte, nämlich Romeo und Julia. Bisher gefällt es mir sehr gut, und ich hoffe, das bleibt auch so.

Macbeth in der Gegenwart

Am Montag habe ich mit einem Buch aus der "Hogarth-Shakespeare" Serie begonnen, dieses Mal Macbeth. Aber er ist halt ein typischer Skandinavien-Krimi - alles düster und dunkel und irgendwie hoffnungslos. Da haben mir andere Bücher aus dieser Shakespeare-Reihe wesentlich besser gefallen. Die Skandinavier und ich, wir kommen einfach nicht zusammen...

Der 5. Fall von Penny Küfer

Gestern habe ich einen Krimi von Alex Wagner begonnen, aus der Penny Küfer-Serie, die mir ja sehr gut gefällt. Die Bücher sind leicht zu lesen und spannend geschrieben, die Protagonistin ist eine witzig gezeichnete Privatdetektivin, die immer in Mordfälle tapst. Dieser Band spielt auf einem Luxus-Kreuzfahrtschiff, es geht um ein besonderes Schmuckstück auf dem ein Fluch liegt und dem uralten Geheimbund der Amazonen.

Eine Göttin...

… ist das Thema des Buches, das ich in den letzten zwei Tagen gelesen habe. Leider nur ein sehr kurzes Lesevergnügen, nur 240 Seiten lang. Mir hat das Buch aber sehr gut gefallen, und vielleicht reise ich mit der Autorin demnächst nach Istanbul (denn das wartet noch auf meinem Sub auf gemeinsame Lesezeit).

Antworten in der Literatur

Heute habe ich mein Vampirbuch ausgelesen - die zweite Hälfte dieses Buches habe ich dann nur noch quergelesen. Es war nicht schlecht, aber drei so dicke Teile waren ein bisschen zäh. Zu dieser Serie habe ich jetzt noch einen Zusatzband, der aber eher allgemein ist, mal sehen wann ich den lesen werde.

 

Für Morgen habe ich mir ein Buch über Bücher ausgesucht, mein Lieblingsthema wird den Lese-April beenden.

Vampire und Hexen

Schon am Mittwoch habe ich mit einem weiteren Schmöker einer Fantasy-Reihe begonnen, nämlich mit dem dritten Teil der "All Souls-Trilogie. Ich habe jetzt fast die Hälfte gelesen und werde am Wochenende natürlich weiterlesen.

Kurzes Vergnügen

Gestern habe ich ein dünnes Büchlein der israelischen Autorin Yael Hedaya begonnen, und heute schon wieder ausgelesen. Was bei knapp 160 Seiten vorhersehbar war. Das Buch hat mir gut gefallen, ich mag den kurzen und knappen Schreibstil.

Tanz in Ameria

Diese Woche habe ich ein ziemlich dickes Buch über Tanz in Amerika gelesen. Hauptsächlich waren es Kurzbiographien, Essays über den Tanz und auch Kritiken aus Zeitungen. Es hat mir ganz gut gefallen, war aber ein bisschen zu dick.

Reiseprojekt im April: Die Themse

In diesem Monat reise ich virtuell nach Großbritannien und spaziere gemütlich die Themse entlang. Ich habe noch knappe 30 Seiten, die werde ich jetzt am Nachmittag noch auslesen. Das Buch gefällt mir ganz gut, bei aber nur 240 Seiten ist es nicht sehr detailliert - dafür aber eben schnell zu lesen.

Mehr Fantasy

Nach den düsteren Vampiren zieht es mich in eine noch dunklere Fantasy-Welt, in der es durch einen Zauber immer Nacht ist. Ich habe bisher etwa ein Drittel gelesen, und bisher gefällt es mir sehr gut, auch wenn es ein Jugendbuch ist. Ich freue mich jedenfalls schon auf's weiterlesen. Gekauft habe ich das Buch, weil das Cover einfach wunderschön ist...

Wieder Vampire

Am Dienstag habe ich mit einem neuen Vampirbuch begonnen, das in einem sehr düsteren New York spielt. Ich habe schon einmal damit angefangen, aber damals war es mir irgendwie zu trostlos und ich habe nur ein paar Seiten gelesen. Jetzt gefällt es mir besser, vielleicht weil die Lage mit dem Corona-Virus und dem "Eingesperrtsein" auch so trostlos ist. Die letzten paar Seiten werde ich dann am Wochenende auslesen.

Book Love

ist ein wundervolles Büchlein, das ich heute begonnen und auch schon ausgelesen habe. Eigentlich ist es ein Comic, der sich mit der Liebe zu Büchern beschäftigt, und ich habe mich fast auf jeder Seite, in jedem Comic wiedergefunden. Auch, das die Umwelt unsere Liebe zu Büchern und zum Lesen nicht versteht und im besten Fall nur lächelt oder den Kopf schüttelt.

 

Wie die gezeichnete Protagonistin kaufe auch ich viel mehr als ich lesen kann, weine oder lache laut - auch manchmal in der Öffentlichkeit - wenn eine Szene traurig oder lustig ist. Auch ich kann manchmal nicht richtig Abschied von einem Buch nehmen, oder möchte besonders schöne und tolle Bücher einfach weiterverschenken. Und auch ich war als Kind/Jugendliche in der öffentlichen Bücherei - und habe mir besondere Bücher dann nachgekauft. Das war einfach DAS perfekte Buch für mich!

Lieblingsschriftsteller Ismail Kadare

Letzte Woche habe ich bei Amazon entdeckt, das es ein neues Buch meines Lieblingsschriftstellers Ismail Kadare gibt. Naja, nicht ganz neu, aber zum ersten Mal ins Englische übersetzt. Jedenfalls habe ich es gleich bei Amazon bestellt und am Mittwoch begonnen zu lesen. Leider hatte es nur knapp 170 Seiten, so das ich es auch schon wieder ausgelesen habe. Wie immer hat es mir sehr gut gefallen, daher war ich auch so schnell durch.

ist das Thema einen - leider - sehr dünnen Buches, das ich in zwei Tagen ausgelesen habe. Es hat Shakespeares Hamlet Akt für Akt beschrieben und gedeutet und hat mir gut gefallen.

Inhalt: Nach seinen Bestsellern Bildung und Männer machte sich Dietrich Schwanitz an ein neues Projekt, das ihm besonders am Herzen lag. Als Anglist hegte er bereits seit seiner Studienzeit eine besondere Begeisterung für William Shakespeare. In seinem nächsten Buch wollte er die großen Dramen dieses berühmtesten aller Dichter nacherzählen und zugleich erläutern -- also eine komplexe Sache einem breiteren Publikum auf unterhaltsame, aber nie oberflächliche Weise nahe bringen, so wie in allen seinen Sachbüchern. Im Jahr 2004 aber vereitelte der Tod die Vollendung dieses Buchprojektes. Nun erscheint aus dem Nachlass Dietrich Schwanitz wenigstens der Teil über Hamlet, ohnehin Shakespeares wichtigstes Werk und wohl das meistgespielte Theaterstück überhaupt.

Hamlet, dieser "melancholische Hysteriker und selbstmörderische Komödiant", wird auf Shakespeares Bühne zum "ersten Intellektuellen, gedankenreich und tatenarm, und zum Urbild des romantischen Menschen, der sich mit ideologischen Fieberträumen und den Halluzinationen des Selbstzweifels herumschlägt". Von Dietrich Schwanitz an die Hand genommen, durchstreifen wir dieses weltberühmte und schon so oft inszenierte Drama von der ersten bis zur letzten Szene und erleben es wie neu unter seinen Erklärungen. Eigentlich wundert man sich, dass man es bisher überhaupt verstehen und genießen konnte, so ein Kosmos an Bedeutungen ist unter der Oberfläche versteckt; und so schwer ist Shakespeares von Bildern und Wortspielen reiche Sprache zu übersetzen. Wenn Hamlet im dritten Akt etwa Ophelia rät, ins Kloster zu gehen, erklärt uns Schwanitz, dass "nunnery" aber nicht nur Kloster, sondern umgangssprachlich auch Bordell bedeutet. Und solcher Feinheiten gibt es viele, die erst durch die Erläuterungen eines Fachmanns wie Schwanitz deutlich werden und Shakepeares Meisterwerk noch heller funkeln lassen.

Reiseprojekt im März: Die Seidenstraße

Seit Dienstag Früh reise ich - leider nur literarisch - auf der Seidenstraße. Mittlerweile bin ich fast fertig mit dem Buch, es ist auch historisch sehr interessant, man lernt dabei auch sehr viel Geschichte. Ein echt tolles Buch, das ich leider am Wochenende auch schon wieder auslesen werde.

Londons Flüsse

Gestern habe ich in der U-Bahn mit dem 8. Teil der Rivers of London-Reihe begonnen, und heute konnte ich weiterlesen, weil ich ja zur Mieterhilfe und auf die Wohnberatung zum Gasometer musste. In diesem Teil hat der Zauberlehrling die Polizei verlassen und sucht nun einen Job - aber natürlich kommt die Magie nicht zu kurz. Dieser Band scheint auch wieder etwas Spannender als die letzten Teile.

Penny Küfers 4. Fall

Am Wochenende habe ich meine mörderische Donaureise ausgelesen, kein schlechter Roman, aber auch nichts, das man unbedingt lesen muss. Irgendwie hat das "Besondere" gefehlt, etwas mehr Handlung hätte auch nicht gefehlt. Von dieser Autorin werde ich mir wohl eher keinen Krimi mehr kaufen.

Sehr wohl aber von der Schriftstellerin, die ich seit Montag gelesen habe. Leider wieder nur ein Roman mit knapp über 200 Seiten, aber dafür kurzweilige Lektüre. Das nächste Buch in der Penny Küfer-Serie ist bereits vorbestellt.

Die Schatten der Nacht

Schon seit Montag lese ich den 2. Teil der "All Souls-Trilogy", mit etwas über 700 Seiten werde ich allerdings noch ein paar Tage dran lesen. Das Buch ist nicht schlecht, der erste Band hat mir allerdings besser gefallen. Aber mal schauen, wie es weitergeht mit der Geschichte um den Vampir Matthew und die Hexe Diana.

Reiseprojekt im Februar: Havanna

Reisetechnisch bin ich seit heute Morgen in warmes Klima gereist, auf die sonnige Insel Kuba, wo ich nun literarischen Urlaub in Havanna mache. Der Reiseführer ist zwar schon gute 10 Jahre alt, aber da es um Spaziergänge in Havanna auf den Spuren berühmter Persönlichkeiten geht, spielt das ja keine Rolle.

 

Bisher habe ich fast 80 Seiten gelesen, das Buch gefällt mir sehr gut - weil es auch um Schriftsteller und Bücher geht.

Ein Reisebegleiter

Nachdem mir Margaret Atwoods "Hagseed", das mir ja sehr gut gefallen hat, wollte ich nun auch Shakespeares Original lesen. Ich bin damit auch schon fast fertig, morgen werde ich es ausgelesen haben und Shakespeare begeistert mich jedesmal.

Verlorene und gefundene Dinge...

… davon hat das Buch gehandelt, das ich in der letzten Woche gelesen habe. Es hat mir ganz gut gefallen, es war nur etwas langatmig und die Heldin war irgendwie ein Trutscherl. Aber ganz nett zu lesen und es hat mich ganz gut unterhalten.

Literarische Landkarten

Heute habe ich ein - zugegeben dünnes - Buch ausgelesen, in dem ein Künstler zu verschiedenen Büchern Landkarten erstellt hat. Ich habe mir ein wenig mehr von dem Buch versprochen, denn zu manchen Büchern gab es mehrere Seiten, zu anderen oft nur ein Blatt. Ich bin auch nicht wirklich mit dem Konzept der Landkarten warmgeworden und mir haben sich auch nicht alle Zeichnungen erschlossen. Eigentlich schade, denn gerade solche Bücher sind ja einer meiner Lieblingsthemen...

Shakespeare Modern

Am Montag habe ich zu einer Neuerzählung eines Shakespeare-Stückes gegriffen, aus der Hogarth-Shakespeare-Serie. Ich habe bereits fast 140 Seiten gelesen und bin begeistert. Margaret Atwood ist eine brillante Autorin und ich bin schon gespannt, wie dieser Roman endet. Allerdings muss ich mir natürlich auch das Original "The Tempest" bestellen... So führt eben ein Buch zum Anderen.
