Geniale Tänzerin

Schon am Donnerstag habe ich mein Fantasybuch ausgelesen und ich freue mich auf die nächsten beiden Teile. Ich hoffe nur, das sie ebenso mitreißend sind, wie der erste Part.

 

Am Freitag in der U-Bahn habe ich dann mit der Biographie einer genialen Tänzerin (und auch Schauspielerin) begonnen: Ginger Rodgers. Und obwohl mir das Buch sehr gefällt und auch flott geschrieben ist, komme ich irgendwie nicht richtig vorwärts. Von mehr als 530 Seiten habe ich erst 100 Seiten geschafft. Aber vielleicht ist es einfach nicht das richtige Buch für den Moment... Ein paar Tage werde ich noch dran lesen, mal sehen wie weit ich komme.

Neue Trilogie

Gestern in der U-Bahn habe ich eine neue Trilogie begonnen, die in (Fantasy)Russland spielt, zu Zeiten als noch per Pferd und Schlitten gereist wurde, Mädchen zart und gehorsam und weiblich sein mussten und ganz einfach verheiratet wurden. Die Protagonistin in meinem neuen Buch ist aber wild und stark und sehr selbstbewusst, und das gefällt mir naturgemäß. Ein toller Fantasy-Roman, der mich total in seinen Bann gezogen hat.

 

Bisher habe ich schon knapp über die Hälfte gelesen und bin begeistert, Teil Zwei habe ich schon hier liegen und der dritte Part ist immerhin schon vorbestellt, erscheint aber erst im Jänner 2019.

Eine Buchhandlung

ist wieder einmal das Thema meines neuen Buches. Das Buch hat selbst nur 156 Seiten und wurde gerade verfilmt. Und leider gibt es in der Story kein Happy End:  Die Protagonistin muss ihre Buchhandlung wieder verkaufen und gesenkten Hauptes die Kleinstadt verlassen. Bisher gefällt mir die Geschichte ganz gut, das Ende hätte ich mir lieber anders gewünscht. Durch die wenigen Seiten werde ich das Buch auch bald wieder ausgelesen haben.

On Broadway

Sonntag Nachmittag habe ich die Essays von Francine Prose ausgelesen, sie haben mir wieder sehr gut gefallen. Es ging ja um mein Lieblingsthema Bücher, aber auch darum, was eine Kurzgeschichte ausmacht und wie man beim Schreiben für Klarheit sorgt. Ein ganz tolles Buch.

 

Gestern habe ich nur wenige Seiten von meinem neuen Buch angelesen, dann ging es ja schon zu unserem Ausflug nach Tulln. Bisher gefällt es mir sehr gut, wenn es auch sehr historisch ist und mit 512 Seiten ein richtiger Schmöker.  Ich hoffe natürlich auch, das der Broadway auch in seinen heutigen Zeiten beschrieben wird, mit all den Theatern und Musicals. Aber mal sehen.

Was und warum wir lesen sollten

Schon seit Freitag lese ich das neue Buch von Francine Prose, in dessen Essays sie sich wieder mit dem Lesen und mit bestimmten Büchern verfasst. Also genau mit meinem Lieblingsthema. Mir gefällt das Buch sehr gut, daher habe ich es auch schon fast wieder ausgelesen. Im Moment kaufe ich ja generell viele Bücher in denen es um das Lesen, Schreiben oder um Bücher geht. Teils Sachbücher, aber auch ein paar Romane haben den Weg zu mir gefunden.

Märchenwelt

Heute habe ich die letzten Seiten meines viktorianischen Krimis ausgelesen und ich war echt begeistert. In Jack The Ripper's Schatten sind im London zwischen 1887 und 1888 mehrere Frauen ermordet worden, der Täter wurde nie gefasst. Die Geschichte war zwar sehr blutrünstig und auch unheimlich, aber sie hat mir von Anfang an gefallen. Gegen Ende wurde die Auflösung des Mordes immer spannender, auch wenn man den Täter bereits kannte. Ich konnte es dann auch kaum erwarten, heute die letzten 30 Seiten zu lesen. Das zweite Buch in der Serie um den Polizeiarzt Dr. Thomas Bond werde ich mir sicher auch kaufen.

 

Begonnen habe ich dann heute mit dem "deutschsprachigen Buch des Monats", mit Michael Köhlmeiers Liebe zu Märchen. Einerseits gefällt mir sein Erzählstil, andererseits bin ich mir nicht sicher, ob diese Sprache nicht zu gewollt ist und der gute Mann kommt auch ein wenig besserwisserisch rüber - und ich habe erst 20 Seiten gelesen. Das Positive ist aber: spätestens am Mittwoch werde ich dieses Buch beendet haben. Aber ob ich es lieben werde?

Neue Bücher

Diese Woche sind wieder einige Bücher-Raten von Amazon eingetroffen. Außerdem hatte ich am Freitag Geburtstag und habe von Robert drei Bücher geschenkt bekommen. Gestern war ich dann noch im Stadion-Center und habe dort im Ramschladen gleich drei Bücher um je 1,00 Euro mitgenommen.

Viktorianisches London

Nach dem Buch über den amerikanischen Pianisten Van Cliburn habe ich heute Morgen mit einem Krimi über einen Serienkiller begonnen, der im viktorianischen London spielt, zeitgleich mit den Morden von Jack The Ripper. Bisher gefällt mit der Roman sehr gut, wenn er auch ziemlich blutrünstig und nichts für schwache Nerven ist. Die weiblichen Leichen werden alle komplett zerteilt, Kopf, Torso, Hände und Beine werden getrennt voneinander gefunden - oder auch nicht.

 

Angeblich gab es diese Morde wirklich, ich muss da mal recherchieren.

 

Mein Wochenendbuch:

Musikprojekt im Juli

Gestern Abend habe ich Lauren Kessler's Erlebnisse mit klassischem Ballett und dem Nußknacker ausgelesen. Sie hat es letztendlich geschafft, Clara's Tante Rosa in dem Ballett zu tanzen und sogar auf Tournee zu gehen. Ein tolles Buch und ganz bestimmt eine tolle Frau, sehr inspirierend.

 

Lauren Kessler hat auch einen Roman mit dem Thema Ballett mehr als einmal erwähnt: Maggie Shipstead's "Astonish Me". Den Roman habe ich auch schon länger hier liegen und werden ihn dann auch bald lesen.

 

Heute habe ich in der U-Bahn mit meinem Musikprojekt-Buch für den Juli begonnen und mich für klassische Musik entschieden. Bisher gefällt mir das Buch sehr gut, weil es auch interessant ist, über die klassische Musik im ehemaligen Russland und in den Vereinigten Staaten zu Zeiten des kalten Krieges zu lesen.
