Zuerst habe ich in der U-Bahn heute meine Essays über das Lesen ausgelesen - nicht jedes Essay hat mir gleich gut gefallen, aber natürlich die Grundaussage: Lesen ist wichtig, Literatur macht aus uns andere Menschen. Und: ein ganz altmodisches und klassisches Buch ist unschlagbar. Das Buch ist mir runtergegangen wie Öl!
Abends - am Vorabend ihres Geburtstags - habe ich dann ausgelesen (dünnes Buch und viele Fotos) das neue Buch über Aung San Suu Kyi. Und auch diese Buch hat mich begeisterst. Ihre Biographie wurde kurz wiederholt, dazu eigene Aussagen und was Menschen wie der Dalai Lama, Barack Obama, Hilary Clinton oder Desmond Tutu über ihren Weg sagen, sowie Freunde und Zeitgenossen. Eine tolle, starke Frau.
